Goodenough College is delighted to be involved with The Patron's Lunch on June 12th 2016 in The Mall, to celebrate The Queen's patronage of over 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday.
The Queen has been patron of the College since 1952, and has made many visits, including the most recent one in 2011 as part of the College's 80th Anniversary celebrations, of which photographs can be seen below. The Patron's Lunch will be a classic British "street party" lunch for 10,000 guests which aims to give the British and Commonwealth public the chance to honour and thank Her Majesty's commitment to others and also bring together communities, who it is hoped will hold their own local street parties as well.
The Patron's Lunch will be part of a full weekend of celebrations, beginning with a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday 10th June, Trooping the Colour on Saturday 11th June and culminating in The Patron's Lunch, which will be the largest street party to be held in The Mall in St James's Park on Sunday 12th June.
