Each term the College holds Dining Events to give everyone the opportunity to experience dining in the historical Great Hall for free.
It's a chance to bring together old friends, and meet new ones, whilst enjoying a delicious and nutritious dinner.
Dining-In Nights are fun, informal evenings, which are often themed to tie in with Cultural Weeks. Our chefs design a topical menu for Members to enjoy, and there is often decoration and entertainment to accompany the evening.
Each Term the College organises themed ‘Collegiate Suppers’. These are candlelit occasions hosted around a particular theme (eg ‘Meet the PhDs’ or ‘Meet the Fellows’) where a set number of Members may sign up for Dinner and enjoy themselves with other Members. The Suppers are held at one or two long tables in the Great Hall and Members pay for their own food- a free starter is included as an incentive! Registration is provided for in advance of the Suppers.
Each year the College hosts five Faculty Dinners, which bring together Members according to the discipline they study. Each Member is invited to welcome their university supervisor to accompany them to the black tie dinner and show them where they live and allow them to experience the College for themselves. As well as a drinks reception before dinner, there are also prestigious speakers relevant to the field of study. Our Faculty Dinners are split into Medical & Natural Sciences, Arts, Business, Politics and Law.
