Stuart Shilson LVO DL, Alumnus, Fellow and friend of the College, took over from Eric Tracey as Chairman of the College at the AGM on 13 October 2020.

Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, Stuart graduated with a first class degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, before pursuing further studies in Computer Science, receiving an MSc degree from Oxford, and he holds a MPhil in Law and Criminal Justice (Cantab).

Stuart was the Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen from 2001 until 2004, before returning to a management consultancy role.  Previously he had worked for five years as a commercial barrister and spent one year on secondment to the Cabinet Office from 1999. Stuart is currently a Senior Partner with a leading management consultancy company.

Stuart was elected a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1989, a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce in 1996 and a fellow of the British–American Project in 2001. He was elected as Fellow of Goodenough College in 2017. He is also Prior of the Priory of England and the Islands of the Order of St John (a major, UN-accredited charity working to improve the health and wellbeing of people in over 40 countries). In July 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.
