Accessible facilities
The College offers a range of accommodation to support Members who have particular needs or disabilities and most of the College is accessible to wheelchair users.

Accommodation at the College
College accommodation is located in two blocks – London House and William Goodenough House – both of which are wheelchair accessible.
Accessible accommodation in William Goodenough House includes five bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and two studio flats with en suite bathroom and kitchen facilities that are suitable for wheelchair users. An additional room can be provided for a personal assistant, if required. (This will be charged separately.) Details of the rooms and floorplans are available on the accessible accommodation page.
William Goodenough House also has a communal kitchen with adjustable work benches and sinks, and a laundry for the exclusive use of residents.
We advise potential Members to get in touch with us as early as possible so we can find accommodation that best suits their requirements (contact Caroline Persaud on +44 (0)20 7520 1570 or email caroline.persaud@goodenough.ac.uk ). We also advise students with additional needs to arrange a time to come into College to view our accommodation or organise someone else to come and visit on their behalf.
(NB: Any information disclosed to our Registry team is treated confidentially as sensitive personal data. This is in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Data of individual Members will only be shared with their permission on a need-to-know basis where it is necessary to facilitate their support. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.)
Accessing the College and its facilities
Blue Badge parking
The College’s main buildings are situated in Mecklenburgh Square in Camden. Blue badge holders are advised to consult Camden Council’s webpages for more detailed information on the Borough’s parking arrangements.
There are different types of parking bays in Camden. Blue badge holders may park in some bays free of charge but not all bays. There are two different types of blue badge parking bays which provide free parking for blue badge holders, either for an unlimited time or for the time limit shown on the time plate. In time limited bays users need to display their time clock, set to their arrival time, and their blue badge. Badge holders may park on yellow lines for three hours providing there are no loading restrictions in force and their blue badge and accompanying clock are displayed with the clock set to their time of arrival.
The College is close to Camden’s more restrictive “green badge” areas so visitors are advised to check the information on the Council’s webpages carefully. (The College does not have its own onsite car park.)
Step-free access and seating
Most floors have step-free access and all of William Goodenough House is wheelchair accessible. London House is a historic listed building, but still has 90% step-free access. Most bedrooms, the Great Hall, major events rooms and Chapel are step-free.
Seating is available for Members and visitors around the building.
Accessible toilets
These are accessible toilets in the Reception areas of London House and William Goodenough House.
Wheelchairs
Most of the College is fully accessible to wheelchair users, including the Great Hall dining room, and emergency evacuation procedures are in place for disabled Members, staff and visitors.
Guide and assistance dogs
We welcome visitors with guide dogs and assistance dogs. Dog bowls can be made available from both Reception desks.
We do not permit therapy, emotional support or assistance animals not trained for specific tasks associated with a disability to live with Members in single rooms or flats.
Catering
Our catering team can assist with most dietary and religious requirements. There are always vegetarian, and sometimes vegan, choices each day. Where meat is Halal this is marked. Each menu has a full set of ingredients with major allergens highlighted. If on the day you find there is nothing to suit your dietary or religious requirements the catering team can make you something specific.
