Visiting the College
Alumni planning to visit the College are most welcome but please note that we have special arrangements in place at the moment.
There are two reasons for this: first, many of the London universities are restricting student access to facilities on their campuses, making our own on-site amenities much busier than usual. In addition, we also need to monitor visitor use more closely as a few people were regularly gaining free access to the College – raising a number of safeguarding and risk management concerns.
We still look forward to welcoming you on site. Our Alumni team arrange a variety of events (please see the Alumni diary for information) and Alumni can also visit if they are hosted, by a current Member or staff member, whilst on the College estate. And if you’d simply like to drop by to show off the College to friends or relations, do feel free to email us to submit a request.
All visitors must sign in at Reception and Alumni should show an Alumni ID card. (If you don’t have a card, please apply for one by emailing a photo of yourself (in jpeg format), along with your full name, the dates you lived at College and the House in which you resided.
For more information on this policy please see the message from the College Director.
Create a tribute page on MuchLoved – a special service for Alumni
Wherever we are in the world, 2020-21 has undoubtedly been an incredibly difficult period. Now many of us will be taking time for reflection. Something that is sure to come to mind are thoughts of our own and our loved ones’ futures and how we might like to remember, or indeed be remembered, after we have passed on.
We have arranged a special service with MuchLoved, to allow you to set up and share tribute pages for loved ones who have passed on. We know our Alumni community is incredibly international which can make it difficult in the best of times, but especially now, to pay your respects when a friend passes away. Now, by creating a tribute page, you can take part in remembrance, offering your own personal condolences and fond memories.
The tributes you make can take the form of personal stories, photos, pieces of music, or even a fundraiser to make a memorial contribution in honour of your loved one. Many of you will have met your life-long friends, and possibly even a partner, at Goodenough and it may be fitting, when somebody close to you dies, to celebrate those connections through making a gift to ensure that the next generation of Goodenough Members will have the same opportunities that you did. To create a tribute go to MuchLoved, set up your tribute and connect it to the College’s MuchLoved profile when prompted.
In the coming months, we will be talking more about the importance of making a Will. Many people are unaware of the significant impact that leaving a Legacy makes, so we will also be developing some new materials to help show the impact leaving a gift in your Will can have and how you can do so with ease and confidence.
