Goodenough College is an educational charity, providing accommodation to international postgraduate students (we call them Members) and their families in a friendly and collegiate setting. The College’s charitable mission is to create a stimulating, inclusive and supportive residential community. The College is committed to widening its access to reach those from lower income backgrounds and countries to increase its socio-economic diversity. To achieve this, the College offers financial support in the form of scholarships and our hardship fund. We also fundraise to maintain our Buildings and Estate. Therefore, the College fundraises and reaches out to alumni and supporters to add to its revenue stream.
The College is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Manager to work closely with the Director of Philanthropy to develop and implement the College’s fundraising strategies with the aim of substantially growing the College’s voluntary income.
In this role, you will support the Philanthropy and Alumni Relations team to cultivate, ask and steward high value prospects including individuals, trusts, foundations and corporates.
You will lead on and deliver the College’s annual Giving Day, a campaign to engage the College’s international audience, Alumni and current Members to promote greater awareness of why the College needs ongoing financial support.
You will work with the College’s Executive Team, Trustees and other key stakeholders to maximise networking opportunities to identify partnership opportunities and translate these into fundraising propositions. You will also implement the legacy strategy to deliver sustainable long term legacy income growth.
You would have gained experience from a broad range of fundraising activities but particularly within high value and individual giving programmes. You should be an exceptional communicator who is able to deliver innovative and creative fundraising strategies to meet income targets.
The College is offering £50,000 per annum for this role, 25 days’ annual leave plus two additional days at Christmas, free lunch when working on site and an opportunity to be part of a vibrant collegiate community based in beautiful surroundings in Bloomsbury. If you think you might be that person, please read the full job description and person specification section before applying.
Please send your CV, with a brief (single page) covering letter telling us about your main motivations for applying and highlighting the key experiences and skills you would bring to the role. CVs sent without a covering letter may not be considered. Applications to be emailed to Zakiyah Kihl, HR Manager at jobs@goodenough.ac.uk.
