King’s College London is one of the world’s leading research and teaching universities. It is England’s third oldest university and consistently ranked in the top 10 UK universities in the world.

King’s is spread across five campuses in central London and currently has over 30,000 students and more than “12,800 postgraduate students. Over a third of these are international students from more than 150 countries worldwide.

Student accommodation

King’s College London students have access to the halls of residences owned by King’s and by the University of London. Private accommodation is also available for students at King’s College at Goodenough and is a popular choice for postgraduate students from all over the world.

Goodenough College has a wide range of student accommodation available varying from single study bedrooms to three-bedroom flats. There is accommodation designed to suit every need, lifestyle and budget.

Single room accommodation

Single bedrooms or flats are great for those individual members wanting their own study space. There are en suite rooms for those who wish to have their own bathroom and kitchen space.

Accommodation for couples

Couples staying at Goodenough have the option of double rooms with en suites or large one-bedroom flats. These rooms come with more living space to accommodate two people living there.

Family accommodation

We also have the option of two and three-bedroom flats available for our Members who have families. Here at the College, we usually have between 50 and 60 children living here at a time so it’s great fun for the children and gives them a chance to make friends.

Adapted accommodation

We are also able to make a range of adaptations to our accommodation to help our Members with specific needs. Most of the College is fully accessible for wheelchair users with rooms and flats that have adapted bathrooms and kitchens.

Staying at Goodenough College allows you to live close by to where you are studying and offers many opportunities to take part in social and intellectual events giving you the chance to meet new people from all over the world.

About Goodenough

Goodenough is an educational charity dedicated to bringing together some of the world’s brightest minds in one community. To achieve that goal, it offers several Scholarships to help talented students from less privileged backgrounds to afford to live at the College. Students who have lived at Goodenough see themselves as part of a special community, which is why the College has such a thriving international Alumni community.

How to get to King’s College from Goodenough College

Your journeys between the King’s College campuses and Goodenough College are straightforward.

  • The Denmark Hill Campus is 7.1km away and can be easily accessed by train and a 20 minute walk, which will take 55 minutes in total and by buses, which will take 1 hour and 5 minutes.
  • The Strand Campus is only 1.8km away, you can walk it within 27 minutes, or cycle it within 8 minutes.  You can also use buses to get nearby the campus, and then walk the remaining few minutes.
  • The Guy’s Campus is 3.7km away and can be easily accessed by walking within 55 minutes, cycling within 16 minutes, or by the Underground which takes 44 minutes.
  • The St Thomas’ Campus is 3.5km away and can be easily accessed by walking within 52 minutes, or by the Underground which takes 44 minutes.
  • The Waterloo Campus is only 2.6km away and can be walked within 39 minutes or cycled within 11 minutes.  You can also use buses to get nearby the campus, and then walk the remaining few minutes.

King’s College campus locations

Denmark Hill Campus 16 De Crespigny Park, London, SE5 8AF: is home to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and also provides facilities to the Dental Institute.  It’s situated in Camberwell, in the London Borough of Southwark.

Denmark Hill Station is adjacent to the campus and Loughborough Junction is about 15 minutes walk away.  The nearest tube stations are Oval (Northern Line) and Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo Lines).  There are also many buses that drop off between 5-10 minutes walk away.

There are many local Underground stations and train lines that service this campus; and there are many buses that drop off nearby. All are only short walks away.

Guy’s Campus, Great Maze Pond, London SE1 9RT is home to the faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine and the Dental Institute.  It is close to London Bridge on the South Bank of the River Thames and London Bridge station/tube is just on-minute walk away.  There are also many buses that drop off nearby.

The St Thomas’ Campus St Thomas’ Hospital, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7EH: is the home of continuing medical and dental teaching.  The Campus is located in central London, overlooking the River Thames, next to Westminster Bridge and opposite the Houses of Parliament.

There are many local Underground stations and train lines that service this campus; and there are many buses that drop off nearby. All are only short walks away.

A shuttle bus service is available for staff and students (carrying their college ID) wishing to travel between the Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital site.

 

The Waterloo Campus, 57 Waterloo Road London, SE1 8WA is home to: Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine (also at the Guy’s Campus), Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy (also at the Strand Campus) and London Dental Education Centre.

There are many local Underground stations and train lines that service this campus; and there are many buses that drop off nearby.  All are only short walks away.
