Goodenough College provides its Members with many opportunities to relax and take part in sporting activities.

College Members have access to the beautiful private Mecklenburgh Square Garden, which contains a tennis court, four permanent BBQ pits and a secure children’s play area, set in its two-acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. The Garden is Wi-Fi enabled and the wooden benches and leafy footpaths make it an ideal place for outdoor study, or relaxing with friends.

There is a private tennis court in Mecklenburgh Square Garden, which are for exclusive use of College Members and the residents of the Square. Tennis Courts can be booked for hire and the College has tennis balls and racquets available for you to borrow too.

There is an attractive roof terrace in London House, which is a great place to enjoy the sunshine and views over the Garden and the enclosed lawn of the London House Quad. It also proves a popular space in which to watch the annual fireworks display at Coram’s Field. William Goodenough House also has its own Garden Terrace and Fountain Quad.

The College has five splendid Common Rooms and two Seminar Rooms. They are used every day by Members to hold clubs and society meetings, to stage talks and concerts or simply meet friends and relax. There is also a Members Common Room in London House which is a place to meet friends, hold an informal study group or bring an academic supervisor.

The College owns a country house in Scotland called The Burn, where Members are invited to go and stay for either leisure or study breaks. With comfortable accommodation in beautiful natural surroundings, with three cooked meals a day, it is a popular trip with many of our Members.

College Members are entitled to reduced rates at the Nuffield Health & Fitness Club which is situated in the basement of London House. It has a swimming pool, large gymnasium, aerobics studio, squash courts and therapy rooms.
