Sports and leisure at Goodenough College

Goodenough College’s excellent sport and leisure facilities offer Members a chance to stay active, relax, meet new people and socialise with friends.

Nuffield Health and Fitness Club

Members are entitled to reduced rates at the Nuffield Health and Fitness Club, situated in the basement of London House, which has a swimming pool, large gym, aerobics and spin studios, squash courts, sauna, steam and therapy rooms.

College Sports

The College’s extensive range of Clubs and Societies, open to all Members, include sports and fitness clubs such as yoga, running, Zumba, dance, fencing, horse riding, hiking, skiing, tennis and basketball.

Members have access to the private Mecklenburgh Square Garden. These two-acres of beautiful landscaped gardens contain a tennis court, four permanent BBQ pits and a secure children’s play area. The garden is an ideal place for outdoor study or relaxing with friends.

The attractive roof terrace at London House is a great place to enjoy the sunshine, views over the Garden and the enclosed lawn of the London House Quad. William Goodenough House also has its own Garden Terrace and Fountain Quad.

Common Rooms

The College’s five Common Rooms and two Seminar Rooms are used every day by Members to hold clubs and society meetings, to stage talks and concerts or simply meet friends and relax. The Members Common Room in London House is an ideal place to meet friends or retreat after a late night out.

The Burn in Scotland

The Burn

The College owns a large country house in Scotland called The Burn, where Members can stay for either leisure or study breaks. With comfortable accommodation set in 190 acres and three cooked meals a day, it is a popular trip for many of our Members.
