“Goodenough College has provided me with the opportunity to take part in various performances in front of diverse audiences and to grow as a performer.”

I’m a Mezzo Soprano completing my master’s at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a proud LGAC scholar. Alongside my studies, the performances I have organised and participated in at Goodenough College have allowed me to grow as a performer.
My formal singing education began as an undergraduate at McGill University, but having graduated during the Covid-19 pandemic, I then looked to a Master’s in musicology at the University of Toronto when performance opportunities felt few and far between. I couldn’t shake my love of singing, though, and so I applied to study voice at Guildhall in London.
Goodenough College has been a wonderful intellectual and artistic playground. Performing for diverse audiences at College events, in such a supportive atmosphere has allowed me to feel truly embraced by my community and has given me a strong sense of belonging. Alongside fellow Member-musicians, I recently performed the role of Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, which we presented in the College’s Great Hall.
Beyond my musical activities, living at Goodenough has broadened my worldview. I’ve had the opportunity to meet Members from all over the world, each of whom have such unique experiences. Attending Port Talks and various events has expanded my knowledge across a wide range of subjects, and I’ve even tried my hand at tennis in the College’s beautiful garden.
Goodenough College is my home away from home. Whether I’m sharing potluck dinners with friends in the College’s buttery or immersing myself in the vibrant community, Goodenough is a place where I feel inspired, supported, and completely myself.
