Chevening and Goodenough work together to offer Scholarship
Chevening and Goodenough College have renewed their partnership for 2022-23 to provide a Scholarship for an overseas student studying for a one-year taught master’s degree, in any subject, at a London-based university.
Last year Chevening and Goodenough College announced the launch of a new Scholarship for overseas students studying for a one-year taught master’s degree, in any subject, at a London-based university.
We are delighted to announce that the partnership is continuing and a Chevening/Goodenough College Scholarship (offered for the 2022-23 academic year) will be open to applicants from Chevening-eligible countries. (Chevening delivers the UK Government’s international awards scheme on behalf of the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.) The award will cover academic tuition fees, accommodation costs at Goodenough College, a monthly stipend for living expenses and other benefits.
Alice Walpole, Director of the College, comments: “In common with Chevening, Goodenough College helps some of the brightest and best postgraduate students from around the world. The College gives them a supportive space in which to live and study while they are gaining a world-class education in some of London’s best universities.
“Whilst we already offer a range of Scholarships, we value our continuing collaboration with Chevening to give a talented overseas Scholar full funding to study in London and live in the College. Our goal, in line with Chevening’s, is to enable the recipient of this award to return home with improved skills, knowledge, and a global network of contacts, to help them to make positive, lasting change in their sector and in their country.”
Duncan Barker, Director of Chevening Secretariat (pictured above), adds: “We are delighted to be partnering with Goodenough College once more to offer one Chevening Scholar the chance to stay at the College. As well as living in a fantastic location in London, the Scholar will join the Goodenough community and will have the opportunity to make the most of all that Goodenough offers.”
Goodenough College is already a popular choice for many Chevening Scholars who are studying in London – read about recent Scholars Emmanuel Soma and Sibulele Ngomane to discover how they have benefitted from the support given by Chevening and the College.
The Chevening/Goodenough College Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant chosen from those who applied through the Chevening online application system in 2020, enabling the chosen Scholar to start their studies in the 2022-23 academic year.
