College achieves Platinum Certification in the 2025 Global Student Living Index
For the third year in a row the College has been awarded Platinum Certification – the highest rating – for the quality of its accommodation and the student experience
The Platinum rating comes on top of the College being shortlisted for the GSL Best Specialist Housing Award (with the winner to be revealed on 16 October 2025).
Goodenough College’s Platinum Certification is based on meeting the highest quality threshold in every one of seven areas that make up the Global Student Living (GSL) Index score: structural scores (Internet, Condition and Quality, Bedroom, Value for Money) and operational scores (Care and Support, Recycling and Environmental Facilities, and Overall Management).
Over all seven measures the College achieved a GSL Index Score of 83.7 out of 100.
Student ratings for the College
The GSL Awards are based exclusively on direct feedback from tens of thousands of students across 200 universities and colleges every year. With no written nominations and no ‘expert’ judges, the Awards are uniquely credible and highly prized.
This year 96% of the Goodenough student Members who provided feedback described the College as very good or good compared to an average of 74% across the private student halls sector as a whole.
The College’s ‘very good and good’ ratings, included:
94% approval for the College’s strong sense of community (compared to an average of 61% across all private student halls).

90% for the College’s care and support
90% for the condition and quality of the accommodation
93% for social events and activities
92% for the College’s study environment
90% for friendly and approachable staff
74% for value for money (compared to 62% for private halls as a whole).
Global Student Living introduced certification in 2023 and the College is delighted to have been awarded Platinum Certification in 2023, 2024 and again this year.
