Summer Ball 2023

Every year, the Goodenough College Summer Ball is one of the most anticipated end of term social events. This great tradition continues, organised by Members for Members.

This year’s theme was ‘An Enchanted Forest’ and the Great Hall was decked out appropriately.

The ball commenced on the London House Quad as the sun was setting. Complimentary drinks were served along with macaroons and cupcakes which sat on floral china on the wooden tables.

When The Great Hall opened, guests entered to the string quartet accompanying the Viennese Waltz. Members had been practicing the waltz for weeks under the instructions of College Member Niko, who extended his stay just to attend the Summer Ball.

And then the DJ took over to start the party. Organisers made sure to request that music from the various cultures at the College was represented, and the DJ did not disappoint. Members also enjoyed the chocolate fountain and had a great time making videos with their friends using a 360 camera available at their disposal throughout the evening. The Summer Ball continued past midnight and ended up with Members saying their emotional goodbyes.
