Charles Cormack

College Trustee

Charles Cormack became a Goodenough College Trustee in October 2024. He serves on the Governing Board of Mariupol State University in Ukraine and is also a member of the Ukraine Government Commission tasked with selecting the Governing boards of several State Universities. He has an honorary doctorate from Bishop Grosseteste University for his work in Transnational Education.

As the founder and Chairman of Cormack Consultancy Group (CCG) since 2005, Charles has built a specialist Higher Education Consultancy working with universities on international projects. CCG has offices in the UK, USA, Australia, Romania, Lithuania, and India, with staff based in numerous other markets. The company works with around 60 universities from the UK, USA, Canada and Australia and has developed partnership activities across over 60 markets in Europe and surrounding areas.

Charles founded the UK/Ukraine University Twinning programme to support Ukrainian universities after the Russian invasion and the project aimed to bring international and Ukrainian universities together, and the project is now in its third year, and involves over 230 universities and has generated over £70 millions of support.

Charles co-founded and chaired Scottish Sports Futures from 1999 to 2018, a charity that uses the power of sport to educate and support young people across Scotland. He was also a Trustee of Lords Taverners (Scotland) for a number of years, supporting disabled and disadvantaged young people through cricket.

Throughout his career, Charles has demonstrated a passion for the importance of internationalisation within Higher Education. His diverse experience and leadership roles have positioned him as a respected figure in both the business and educational sectors, with a particular focus on international higher education.
