Entry Scholarships / Financial Assistance

We offer a wide range of Scholarships designed to support students who might not otherwise be able to join us.

Please see below for details of our Scholarships for the 2017/18 academic year. Applications for Entry Scholarships are made at the same time as submitting your application to live at the College. The closing date to apply for an entry scholarship is 30th June 2017.   Decisions will be made and successful candidates informed by 31 July 2017.

Jonathan Hirst Commonwealth Scholarship 1 £10,000 for one year only Commonwealth nationals including those from the UK.
Goodenough International Scholarship 2 £10,000 for one year only Any applicant applying from outside the UK.
The Rowland Scholarship 1 £8,500 for one year only Any applicant studying on a one year Masters course.
Sir Abraham Bailey Scholarship 1 £7,000 for one year South African nationals. Previous Abraham Bailey Bursars are encouraged to apply.
McCahon Law Scholarship 1 £4,000 for one year For those applying to undertake the BPTC or LPC course. 
Goodenough Musicians Scholarship 1 £5,000 for one year only Applicants studying on a music performance course.
Goodenough Artists Scholarship 1 £5,000 for one year only A practising visual or fine art student studying on an art course.
Goodenough College American Friends Scholarship 2 $5,000 (US) for one year US citizens applying from outside of the UK (minorities are encouraged to apply).
Goodenough Family Scholarships 3

2 x scholarships for £5,000 per year for one year only, 1 x scholarship £5,000 per year for up to four years

A single person or a couple with one or more children.
Education Scholarship 1 £2,000 for one year Applicants undertaking Masters or PhD in the field of education.
Heuer-Monaghan Marshall Residential Scholarship 2 $2,500 for up to two years Scholarship available to applicants and residents of the College who are in receipt of a Marshall Scholarship.
Goodenough PhD Scholarships 6 £5,000 per year for up to four years Students enrolled on or due to start a PhD course (or enrolled on an MPhil course with the intention to upgrade to a PhD).
Goodenough Scholarships 15 £2,000 for one year only Any applicant in financial need.

Partnership Scholarships

We are fortunate to be able to offer several scholarships in partnership with other academic bodies or institutions. The application procedures for these scholarships vary depending on the organisation involved.

London Goodenough Association of Canada (LGAC) 6 or more per annum The LGAC is our Alumni organisation in Canada. The scholarships are to Canadian graduate students studying in London and living at Goodenough College. Application is directly to the LGAC. Association of Commonwealth Universities Scholarships 6 Goodenough Commonwealth Scholars Bursaries - six awards of £1,200 are made annually to Commonwealth Scholars based in London, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK.  £2,000 each

Richard Guy Goodenough College Scholarship

1 Richard Guy, leading Australian business identity and philanthropist is a Goodenough College Alumni who was a member in the 1960's. He now wishes to extend the same opportunity to a Master or PhD student. For more information on the scholarship please click here Up to $(AUD)50,000

We are the first choice for scholars from a wide range of international schemes, including Marshall, Fulbright, Chevening, Commonwealth, and Rotary scholars.

In addition we also offer Scholarships in partnership with academic and other institutions including Kings College London, English Speaking Union, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, School of African and Oriental Studies and Windle Trust. Please note: These scholarships are available for students who are already registered for postgraduate study with these institutions and Goodenough College is unable to help students to apply or secure places with the institutions listed.
