The Maple Leaf House Appeal 

Since the very beginning, Canadians have made a special and lasting contribution to Goodenough College.  

A significant number of Canadian postgraduates join the community each year and play leadership roles in College life. Our Canadian Alumni include political and social leaders, distinguished scientists, academics, and high achievers in many fields of endeavour, all of whom have positively impacted society.  

We would like this project to celebrate Canada’s long and rich relationship with the College.  

We are asking our Canadian Alumni and friends to come together and support our Room to Grow campaign and are launching a special appeal for gifts from Canada. Our aim is to name a house in recognition of the generosity and long-standing support of our Canadian Alumni. We propose naming No. 47 as Maple Leaf House to celebrate our very special relationship with our Canadian Alumni. 

How you can help

House 47 (Maple Leaf House) has 17 bedrooms where we will recognise all major Canadian gifts with a named plaque at the entrance to each room.

We are looking for gifts of CAN$ 25K which can be paid in instalments over three years.

Recognition

Donations of all levels to support the Maple Leaf House appeal will be very welcome. All Donors will be thanked on our website, those making a gift to name Maple Leaf House will be recognised in the hallway of Maple Leaf House.

All those who dedicate a room or name a flat will be invited to a series of events to mark the completion of the campaign and the opening of 43-47 Mecklenburgh. It is very much hoped that our Patron, King Charles III, will officially open the buildings in the autumn of 2026.
