College wins the 2023 Best Specialist Housing award – Global Student Living Awards

The 2023 Best Specialist Housing (UK and Ireland) award recognises the College’s excellent residential and community experience. Goodenough College has now won the Best Specialist Housing Award every year of the award since 2013 – an incredible achievement given the huge range of student accommodation on offer throughout the UK and Ireland.

The 2023 Global Student Living Awards  are based exclusively on direct feedback from tens of thousands of students at universities and colleges across the UK and Europe. With no written nominations and no ‘expert’ judges, the Global Student Living Awards are exceptionally credible and highly prized.

At Goodenough College we are proud of what we do and we always listen to feedback from the survey as it helps us further improve our environment and the overall experience of College Members.

Global Student Living introduced certification this year and we are delighted to be awarded Platinum Certification which was only awarded to one university and five operators.

This new top certification is based on meeting the highest threshold in every one of seven areas that make up the GSL index score: structural scores (Internet, Condition & Quality, Bedroom, Value for Money) and operational scores (Care & Support, Recycling & Environmental Facilities, Overall Management).

In the 2023 survey:

94% described Goodenough College as very good or good compared to an average of 76% across the rest of the student accommodation sector.

96% rated the opportunity for social interaction good or very good, compared to an average of 66% across the rest of the student accommodation sector. 91% said they had positive relationships with other residents, and appreciated the availability of communal spaces.

91% said the staff were friendly and approachable, and 87% said that living at Goodenough College had a positive impact on their overall wellbeing.
