Single room with shared bathroom
We have a variety of single rooms with shared bathroom facilities, both in traditional rooms and cluster flats. These offer Goodenough College Members a great range of options designed to fit with their personal lifestyle, needs and budget. The majority of these are on traditional (hotel style) corridors with a smaller number in cluster flats, sharing kitchen and bathrooms with 1-16 flatmates. These rooms are available in all three buildings London House, William Goodenough House and The Georgian Houses, all of which are within a short walk of each other.

Details about single rooms with shared bathrooms
Each room contains a double or small double bed, bedside cabinet, large desk and chair, full sized fridge, bookshelves and a lockable fitted wardrobe with a safe.
Single A, B and C rooms (traditional style – like a hotel corridor)
These have a wash-hand basin and fridge in the room and each floor is single sex and bathrooms (there are separate shower and WC rooms) are shared. Most single study bedrooms are in London House, with a small number in William Goodenough House. In addition, each House has communal kitchens and laundries for the exclusive use of residents.
Single rooms B and C (cluster – flat shares)
A cluster flat is shared flat. Once through the front door of the flat Members in this flat will share kitchens and bathrooms with their flat mates. They still have access to all of the other College facilities. The majority of our cluster flats will be in the fabulously restored Georgian Houses opening in September 2026. Most flats will be shared with between 1-6 other flat mates, with one built for real communal living sharing a fantastic large kitchen and dining room with 16 others. Cluster flats do not have a wash-hand basin or fridge in the room. Most of the cluster flats are in the new Georgian Houses do not have a lift (top floor is number 3) and are mixed sex. A small number of cluster flats are located in William Goodenough House which does have lift access and are single sex.
When you apply to the College you will have the option to list your room preferences in order and whether you would like a traditional style room (hotel corridor style) or a room in a cluster flat.

What's included in rent and bills?
All rooms are centrally heated with all bills and contents insurance included in your rent. This includes hot water, heating, electricity, bedding and towels and wi-fi.
Bedroom cleaning services are available but charged separately. All kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas like hallways are cleaned frequently by our housekeeping staff.
