Farewell to Martin Schwab – an exceptional supporter of the College

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Martin Schwab, Goodenough Alumnus and College Fellow

Martin was a proud Goodenough Alumnus and an exceptional supporter of the College, dedicating more than 15 years of service as a Trustee and, more recently, as a Fellow.

Within our community, Martin will be fondly remembered for his insight, commitment, generosity and good humour. His contributions extended beyond governance – he championed the College’s cultural and intellectual enrichment programme with remarkable generosity.

Martin had a particular love for Spain, which he shared with Members by sponsoring the Dean’s Seminars to Toledo and Madrid in 2023 and to Mérida in 2024– both were unforgettable study trips remembered warmly by all who took part.

He will be greatly missed by the Goodenough College community.
