Goodenough Global Giving Day 2021: Thank You
Thank you so much for getting involved in Goodenough Giving Day 2021. Thanks to your generosity we raised over £135,000, including Gift Aid, to help current and future Members while they call the College their home
Studying in London and living in Goodenough College has been a defining experience for my personal and professional life. Living at Goodenough College provided me with the amenities and pastoral care to complete my studies with ease. At the same time the College gave me the opportunity to be part of a vibrant international community, living with people who supported each other.
Goodenough Giving Day is all about uniting our Goodenough community, connecting and reconnecting Alumni with each other and the College.
We’re thrilled that almost 2,000 of you engaged with us on social media, with many taking part in our polls; viewing our Registrar’s tour of the local area; and visiting our photo archive on Goodenough Global.
We are most grateful to our excellent Alumni speakers; Dr Christian Busch (LH 2009-14), Estelle O’Callaghan (LH 1999-2000), Jennifer Faust (WGH 1999-2000), Dr Mustafa Izzuddin (WGH 2008-09) and Geoffrey Stein (LH 2005-07) who helped to make Giving Day a special occasion.
Huge thanks also to our Giving Day Ambassadors who utilised their networks to spread the word about Giving Day and to share their memories of the College.
We are so grateful to over 300 donors who made a gift on Giving Day. Thanks also to over 60 donors who made their first donation. Your kind donations will have a real impact on the College in the following ways:
Scholarships – Thanks to your generosity, we have raised enough money to offer six full, or 12 partial Scholarships to talented postgraduate students from low-income backgrounds.
Sustainable estate – The money raised will allow us to upgrade 72 member rooms with LED lighting making them 75% more energy efficient.
Greatest need – Designating your gift to wherever the need is greatest.
Member wellbeing – Your donations will ensure that 22 Members struggling with their mental health can receive professional counselling.
