"Being part of Goodenough College’s international community with unique cultures and backgrounds truly expanded my view of the world and allowed me to form lifelong friendships. I feel very lucky to call Goodenough my home.”

Joining Goodenough College’s international community has been a truly transformative experience. I come from a small town in Missouri, USA, and the exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives has enriched both my academic work and personal growth in ways I never expected.

I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Organisational Behaviour at LSE, where I explore topics such as leadership, wellbeing, and how teams come together. At Goodenough, I run the Wine Society, which brings together Members from all over the world. Our conversations often go beyond wine history and production; they spark fascinating discussions about cultural perspectives and traditions. These exchanges have given me insights I could never have gained from books alone.

One of the most enriching aspects of my time at Goodenough has been my socio-cultural growth. I often say that being part of Goodenough’s international community has opened my eyes to the world. To gain the same perspectives elsewhere, I would have had to travel to 85 different countries! Thanks to the friendships I’ve built at the College, I even visited many of my friends in their home countries – connections I might never have made otherwise.

One of my professors once spoke about “the pride of space” – the sense of belonging to a place and community you’re proud of. For me, Goodenough embodies that concept. It’s my home in London, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.
