“Being surrounded by so many talented musicians within the College community has been incredibly inspiring and has enriched my journey as an acting student.”

I first heard about Goodenough College from my mum – her close friends, who are Goodenough Alumni, spoke highly of the College’s vibrant and welcoming community.
As an acting student, I was immediately drawn to the creative atmosphere at Goodenough. The presence of so many talented musicians was incredibly inspiring and made me feel at home.
During my time at the College, I was a member of the Academic Council and I was actively involved in the Hiking and Yoga Societies. As a Catholic Society Member, I really appreciated having access to the College’s own Chapel. I also truly enjoyed a wide range of events organised by other clubs and societies – espresso tastings hosted by the Brew and Brush Society and a lively wine tasting evening by the Wine Society were among my favourites.
One of the defining experiences of my time at Goodenough was participating in the Dean’s trip to Rome, themed Dark Energy in the Universe. One of the keynote speakers was Philip Goff, a professor of Philosophy at Durham University known for his work on consciousness and panpsychism – the idea that consciousness is a fundamental property of the universe. As someone who also holds a degree in Philosophy, meeting Goff and exploring his ideas was more than just an academic encounter; it helped shape the direction of my dissertation and reconnected me with my philosophical roots.
Another highlight of my Goodenough experience was attending the Swiss Ambassador’s lecture on the art of diplomacy. At the time, I was in the middle of a theatre production and grappling with the challenges of people management. The insights from that talk gave me a fresh perspective and practical tools to navigate those challenges more effectively.
My time at Goodenough College gave me the confidence to fully embrace life in cosmopolitan London and to actively pursue acting opportunities here.
