Thank you for supporting Goodenough Giving Day 2025
Over 36 hours on 18-19 November 2025 we asked our amazing community of Members, Alumni, friends, and supporters to come together to support our Room to Grow campaign to expand the College.
We have been overwhelmed by the generous response. We raised over £275,000 from 326 donors during the Giving Day period as our community responded to the matched funding challenges generously offered by our Campaign Chair and Alumnus, Jonathan Fitzgerald and the Chair of our London Goodenough Association of Canada and Alumnus, Tim Costigan.
One of the highlights of Giving Day is the way the wider College membership comes together to support the day, and this year has been no exception. The Running Club mobilised some 30 runners to get up early to complete a chilly Giving Day 5k at 7am on the opening morning and the Baking and Cooking Club put together a brilliant Bake Sale in both foyers of London House and Willie G. The culmination of the first day was the Giving Day quiz, with fiendishly difficult questions posed by the Dean and Registrar. Congratulations to the winning team “Los Quizerables”, and to Willie G, for scoring the most points overall and winning the Giving Day quiz cup!
Giving Day is an opportunity to get back in touch with old friends, share memories; give messages of support to current Members and support future generations. It has been heartwarming to read so many messages of support from our global community.
The Room to Grow campaign continues and will invest in our historic estate so that more outstanding postgraduate students can experience personal and professional growth through living at Goodenough College.
We are expanding the College by restoring and refurbishing five Georgian terrace houses on Mecklenburgh Square – bringing properties with a rich literary and historic significance back to life and integrating them seamlessly with William Goodenough House.
The success of the campaign will enable us to offer more affordable accommodation to attract the widest range of students – giving 60 more talented postgraduates the opportunity to join our community each year.
